    What is Giant Corduroy?

    Giant Corduroy is a textured upholstery fabric characterised by its broad, raised ribs. Unlike fine corduroy, its wider structure creates a fuller, more pronounced appearance.

    Dog's Companion Giant Corduroy covers are made from 100% polyester. The fabric feels soft to the touch while offering the strength needed for a dog bed used every day.

    How do I choose the right size?

    Start by comparing your dog's breed with the examples above. Then consider their actual body length and preferred sleeping position.

    Your dog should be able to lie fully stretched out without their head or paws hanging over the edge of the cushion.

    Individual dogs within the same breed can vary in size, so breed recommendations are a guide rather than a fixed rule.

    For Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers, our recommended size is Large 115 × 85 cm.

    How does the EPS bead filling work?

    The comfort of a complete Dog's Companion dog bed comes primarily from its flexible inner filling.

    Our beds contain thousands of small, round EPS beads that move independently as your dog lies down or changes position.

    Unlike a single solid piece of foam, the beads redistribute themselves around your dog's body. This creates a flexible sleeping surface that adapts to different resting positions and helps distribute pressure.

    EPS beads are also lightweight, insulating and refillable.

    Adjust the filling to your dog's preference

    A bed that is filled too firmly can feel high or rounded, making it difficult for your dog to settle comfortably.

    If necessary, carefully remove a small amount of EPS filling.

    When the cushion becomes flatter after prolonged use, add fresh beads until it reaches your dog's preferred height and firmness.

    Giant Corduroy is particularly appealing when you want a combination of soft texture, strong upholstery fabric and a distinctive appearance.

    Cotton canvas is not water-repellent, while coated fabrics are water-repellent rather than completely waterproof.

    How to clean a Giant Corduroy dog bed

    A Giant Corduroy dog bed consists of an inner cushion filled with EPS beads and a removable outer cover.

    To clean the cover:

    1. Open the zip and remove the outer cover.
    2. Follow the washing instructions on the care label. Giant Corduroy covers can be machine washed at 40°C.
    3. Allow the cover to dry according to its care instructions.
    4. Replace it only when it is ready for use.

    The inner cushion can also be cleaned with water, provided it is allowed to dry completely.

    For everyday maintenance, remove loose dog hair and check the filling occasionally.

    Can I buy a replacement Giant Corduroy cover?

    Yes. Replacement covers are available separately.

    You can switch from Camel to Olive, choose a different fabric for another season or replace a cover after extended use.

    Because the inner cushion, outer cover and EPS filling can be maintained separately, you do not need to replace the entire dog bed whenever one component needs attention.

    As a Dutch family business based in Breda, we are closely involved in selecting our fabrics, developing our collections and preparing our dog beds.

    Our covers are produced for us in our own workshop and other workshops in the Netherlands. The dog beds are filled with EPS beads, checked and prepared for dispatch at our warehouse in Breda.

    We do not simply purchase ready-made dog beds for direct shipment from an overseas manufacturer. This involvement allows us to pay attention to the materials, filling and finishing of our products.
